Last call: The final installment of 2024 real estate taxes is due to the Walworth County Treasurer by July 31, 2025.
Important: If you are planning to pay in person at Government Center this week, please note that we are starting the first phase of construction on our north parking lot. Parking may be somewhat more limited and drivers should use caution as they navigate the lot. Alternatively, we recommend using street parking around Veterans Park. Handicap parking is available on the west side of the lot.
Ways to Pay Your Real Estate Taxes
1. In Person: Pay with a check, cash, or money order at the Walworth County Treasurer’s office, 100 W. Walworth Street, Elkhorn. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
2. By Mail: Checks or money orders may be mailed to the Walworth County Treasurer, PO Box 1001, Elkhorn, WI 53121. Mail must receive a U.S. postmark on or before July 31, 2025.
3. Online: Pay online at www.co.walworth.wi.us by selecting the Property Taxes quick button on the home page. Payments are accepted via electronic check, debit card, or credit card. Convenience fees apply.
4. Drop Box: Checks or money orders may be placed in the drop box located in the center median of the parking lot on the north side of the Government Center. Include your payment stubs or indicate your parcel numbers on the checks or in a separate memo so payments can be applied correctly.
Property owners who miss the July 31 deadline will be considered delinquent, and the balance on their account will be subject to interest and a penalty of 1.5% per month retroactive to February 1 (10.5%).
