Notice of Ordinance Amendment

The Town Board of the Town of East Troy, Walworth County, Wisconsin, adopted the following ordinance on August 13, 2026.

Notice is hereby given that the full text of Ordinance No. 2026-18 is set forth below and is being posted in accordance with applicable law.

ORDINANCE NO. 2026-18 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16.05.140 ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS REGARDING SPOTTERS FOR WATER SKIING

The Town Board of the Town of East Troy, Walworth County, Wisconsin, does hereby ordain as follows:

That Section 05.140 (1) is amended and recreated to replace the existing subsection language with the following italicized language:
1. No person may operate a motorboat towing a person on water skis, aquaplane, or similar device unless one of the following applies:
  1. There is in the motorboat a competent person in addition to the operator in a position to observe the progress of the person being towed.
  2. Subject to s. 30. 77 (3) (ab), the motorboat is equipped with a mirror that provides the operator with a wide field of vision to the rear.
All italicized language above is new language incorporated into the existing ordinance. The remainder of the existing ordinance remains unchanged.
This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and publication as provided by law.
