The Walworth County Land Use and Resource Management department is hosting a free Clean Boats, Clean Waters boat inspection and education program on Thursday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Walworth County Government Center, room 214, located at 100 W. Walworth Street in Elkhorn.
This program is open to the public; registration is encouraged at https://tinyurl.com/walworthcbcw.
Attendees will learn about the environmental impacts of aquatic invasive species (AIS), how to identify invasive species, how to educate boaters about the effects of AIS, and how to conduct a watercraft inspection.
This program is hosted in partnership with the Geneva Lake Environmental Agency and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
With the launch of a CBCW Pilot Program this year on Lake Beulah and the ongoing CBCW Program on Potter Lake, two of the town’s larger lakes will now have proactive AIS inspection programs. Visit their websites for more information.
