07-03-2026 Beulah Heights Culvert Update-
This Week:
🚧 🫣Unstable Soil Conditions Were Discovered During Excavation, digging had to stop to preserve the roadway edges and neighboring driveways. Digging relieves pressure, but then allows water to seep in from unknown areas. With liver sand found on both sides of the culvert and the channel sides over saturated with water the sides began to skiff in during digging in the center of the excavation area. After measurements being taken this week and several conversations between Lynch, the DNR, the Foreman and the Town DPW a plan has been set in place. Sheeting will be placed on both sides to preserve driveways, roadway and trees. The sheeting supplier said that they do have it in stock and it is expected to arrive by Wednesday. The crews are ready to go and have been egar to find a solution to this setback and keep moving forward.
Next Week:
🚧 Additional Sheet Piling to be Delivered/Installed Wednesday
🚧 Excavation on Hold Until Sheeting is Delivered/Installed
🚧 Working to Draw Water Down To 12 Inches Below Before Project Levels
🚧 Excavation Week Continues once Sheet Piling is Installed
🚧 Dirty Water Dewatering
🚧 Continue Additional Bypass Pumping as needed 🌧️
⚠️ Please slow down when diving down the temporary road and show empathy for the workers who are doing their best to complete this complex job as efficiently as possible while navigating unforeseeable setbacks. Collaboration with the Contractor, Town DPW, Lynch and The DNR will continue as we navigate these unforeseen challenges as efficiently as possible.
