Construction Update WIS 20: CONSTRUCTION UPDATE WIS 20-We were able to snag a traffic control crew a day early and they have been working removing equipment and preparing to reopen WIS 20. The crew should be completed with their work in the next few hours and then WIS 20 will be reopened from East Troy to Waterford!Thank you all for your patience and understanding as this was a lengthy project and a lot of work to get done!

Town Tax Bills are on their way

2023 – 2024 Tax Information for Residents of the Town of East Troy

 

All taxes real or personal must be paid in full or the first installment paid on or before – January 31, 2024.

 

The FASTEST and most EFFICIENT way to pay your tax bill is to mail a check or money order made payable to the: Town of East Troy Treasurer:

Taxes are due January 31, 2024. December postmarks are for income tax purposes, not a property tax deadline.

 

If you require a Receipt, PLEASE enclose a STAMPED self–addressed envelope for a receipt to be mailed to you; OTHERWISE – a receipt will not be mailed to you. Receipts can be printed from the Walworth County WI website, under Services, Real Estate & Personal Property Search

 

A LOCK BOX, located in the lobby of the town hall, is available 24 Hours a day.  Payments may be deposited in the lock box and a receipt will be mailed, IF a stamped, self-addressed envelope is enclosed.

 

You may pay your taxes IN-PERSON at the East Troy Town Hall located at N9330 Stewart School Road on the following dates:

 

December 2023 Collection Hours

 

December 18 to December 22, 2023– 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

 

There will be NO tax collection on December 25 or December 26, 2023 and the Town Hall will be closed.

 

December 27 to December 29, 2023– 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

 

January 2024 Collection Hours

 

The Town Hall will be closed January 1, 2024.

 

Tuesdays through Thursdays — 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

 

The Final Day of In-person collection will be January 31, 2024 till 1:00 P.M.  Mailed payments postmarked January 31, 2024 will be considered timely.

 

Second Installments

 

Are payable to the Walworth County Treasurer and should be mailed to the County by July 31, 2024.

 

Do not mail or drop off your payments at the Town for the Second Installment.

As required by the State of Wisconsin, the Town of East Troy maintains a list of persons who submit a request to receive notice of any proposed zoning action that affects the allowable use of the person’s property.

If the Plan Commission completes action on any zoning proposal, and the Town Board is prepared to vote on the zoning ordinance, the Town Board shall send a notice, which contains a copy or summary of the proposed zoning ordinance, to each person on the list whose property, the allowable use of which, may be affected by the zoning ordinance. An ordinance may take effect even if the Town fails to send the notice. (Wisconsin Statutes Section 61.35 and 62.23(7)(d)(4).

Dates to Remember

 

E-cycle events at the Town Hall – May 4, 2024 and October 5, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. only

 

Monthly Town Board meetings are held the Second Monday of each month at 6:30 P.M.

Planning Commission meetings are held the First and Third Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 P.M.

 

Annual Meeting of the Electors – April 16, 2024 at 6:30 P.M. at the East Troy Town Hall.

 

Spring Primary (if needed) – February 20, 2024

Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary– April 2, 2024

Partisan Primary – August 13, 2024

November 5, 2024 – General Election

 

Dog License Information

 

Dog License fees must be paid by April 1, 2024 or owners may be subject to a $5.00 penalty.  Please include proof of rabies vaccinations. If you want the tags returned by mail, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope otherwise they must be picked up at the Town Hall. 

 

License Fees are:   Neutered Males and Spayed Females $13.00

                                Unaltered Males and Females $32.00***
